X-ray Fluorescence has showed up as a solution in testing for a variety of needs...from coating thickness to drywall testing to geological testing and more.  This article that an associate found on-line is another use for XRF technology.  We all hear about the analyzers use for testing childrens product and electronics for hazardous substances but this article discusses XRF being used to test car interiors - for hazardous substances.  I wasn't surprised to learn that cars have hazardous substances throughout the interior or that XRF was used to identify the metals content; I was surprised, however, to find out that "fogging" in a car is because of the heavy metals.
